| Wednesday's practice was the last in pads for the Toombs County Bulldogs prior to their season opening game against East Laurens. At the end of the workout the varsity offense went against the B-Team defense and the objective was to score. After sputtering a little early in the 11-on-11 match up the A-Team got in going. "Here and There" game is history
| Due Tropical Storm Fay, the "Here and There" scrimmage game between Toombs County and McIntosh County has been cancelled and will not be played. The Bulldogs next game will be their season opener on Friday August 29 at home versus East Laurens. The "Here and There" game had an interesting history as it changed venues four times including twice on Thursday. It bounced from Lyons to Darien back to Lyons and then to Darien again before eventually disappearing into the great beyond. |

Bulldogs reel off third straight "good" practice
| For the third straight day head football coach Shane Williamson told his Toombs County Bulldogs that they had a good day of practice. The defense looked particularly tough working in short yardage situations. Bulldogs start third week with "good day"
| The Toombs County Bulldogs opened up their third week of practice with what head coach Shane Williamson called their best work since their seven-on-seven days earlier this summer. | The first ever "Meet the Bulldogs" was a success as a large crowd of Toombs County Bulldogs supporters showed up in the Pit to meet the 2008 football team and the new coaching staff. Bulldogs wrap up first week

The Toombs County Bulldogs first week of practice ended on Thursday with a one hour and fifty minute workout that was halted 10 minutes early because of rain and lightning. Their last practice before putting on the full gear was conducted in very comfortable conditions. Instead of practicing with a heat index of above 110 degrees, like earlier in the day, the Bulldogs got a break with an 80 degree afternoon. Bulldogs make it through a long Saturday
| The second day of camp at Toombs County Middle School was definitely a long one for the Toombs County Bulldogs. Wake up call was at 6 a.m. and the full day ended at midnight after a three hour practice under the lights. The Bulldogs worked on defense in the morning, special teams during the afternoon and on defense at night. Means a late "Friday Night Lights" for the Dawgs
| The Toombs County Bulldogs first football practice turned into a basketball "Midnight Madness". The Bulldogs, who were scheduled to start at 8 p.m., were delayed until 10 o'clock because of lightning in the area. Their two-hour practice ended shortly after midnight and after a shower and a snack it was lights at the middle school at 12:50 a.m. The Bulldogs are conducting a camp this year and on Saturday and Sunday they will be working out three times a day. | On Monday the Toombs County Bulldogs returned to the weight room only to find that the air conditioner wasn't working. So lifting was more challenging than usual. On Thursday the Toombs County Bulldogs wrapped up their two weeks of spring practice with a scrimmage and number one quarterback C.J. Scott led the Bulldogs first string offense to three scores in three possessions. C.J. completed 11-of-16 passes and the first nine balls that he threw were catchable. On Wednesday the Toombs County Bulldogs wrapped up practice with a spirited short yardage drill. It was the offense against the defense from the five-yard line. The Dawgs were so into this drill that they didn't want to stop, so they asked for more. The Bulldogs also went 11-on-11 with Alex Jenkins catching a TD pass to complete a 95-yard drive. On Tuesday the Toombs County Bulldogs increased their intensity in their second day in pads and head coach Shane Williamson was pleased with their physical play and also their offensive execution in an 11-on-11 scrimmage between the number one offense and the number two defense. On Tuesday, after doing their individual drills, the Toombs County Bulldogs ran their new spread offense against air with C.J. Scott playing quarterback for the first team and T.J.
