One Vidalia station raised its price from 3.95 to 4.28 in less than ten minutes. Another station even put up the price of 4.79 and of course they had no business. Word began to circulate around Toombs County that there would be no gas by Thursday. So everybody began to make a run to the pumps to get some gas, no matter how outrageous the price was. And all this because of a hurricane that is hitting the Texas coast 931 miles away.
