Claxton finishes second
Paul Claxton finished second in the Nationwide Tour's Peek'n Peek Classic in Findlay Lake, New York. Paul started and finished his final round with three birdies. In between he made eight pars and four bogeys. Roland Thatcher won the event by three shots after shooting a four-under par 68 on Sunday. Claxton's scorecard
After shooting back-to-back 66's, Claxton bogeyed four of his first six holes on the back nine, on Saturday, and shot a two-over 74 to relinquish the top spot on the leaderboard. PGATour.Com Post-Journal story

Claxton follows up win with Top 20 finish
The week ofter his Nationwide Tour win, Paul Claxton finished in a tie for 18th at 11 under par at the LaSalle Bank Open in Glenview, Illinois. Claxton shot under 70 (69-69-68) in each of the first three rounds and was tied for seventh entering the final round. But his driving accuracy dropped during the fourth round and Paul made only two birdies and one bogey and shot a one-under 71. Claxton shoots a final round 67 and wins his second Nationwide Tour event
Paul Claxton, from Vidalia, made five birdies and no bogeys and shot a five under par 67 and won the Melwood Prince George's County Open near in Maryland by one shot over James Driscoll and Jaco Van Zyl. Claxton shot 70-66-67-67 and finished at 18 under par. Paul made 22 birdies and just four bogeys in his 72 holes. With the victory Claxton won $108,000 and became the first player to win one million dollars in a career on the Nationwide Tour. He has won $197,888 this season and moved from 12th to third place on the tour money list. This is Paul's second professional victory, he last won in Louisiana in 2001.
This season Paul Claxton has consistently shot low numbers in the first two rounds of his appearances on the Nationwide Tour. In eight of his last 12 rounds, Claxton has shot 70 or less including two more similar type rounds this weekend. In his second round, Paul shot a six under par 66 which included six birdies and no bogeys. In the first round he shot a two-under 70 and had five birdies and two bogeys. |

Final round dooms Claxton to his worst finish of the season
Paul Claxton made only two bogeys and one double bogey through the first three rounds of the BMW Charity Pro-Am at The Cliffs at Travelers Rest, South Carolina. But in his final round Claxton shot his worst round of golf in his last five tourneys. Claxton's two over par 74 dropped him into a tie for 43rd, his worst finish in the six Nationwide Tournaments that he has made the cut in this season. Paul birdied three holes but he bogeyed three as well and for the second straight day had a double-bogey on the front nine. Claxton finished at three under par and won nearly $2,500 and he has accumulated nearly $90,000 for the season. He is 12th on the tour money list.
In his first round Paul shot a two-under 69 with two birdies and no bogeys. In the second round Claxton carded 3 birdies and 2 bogeys in shooting a one-under 70. Claxton starts strong, but finishes 33rd
Paul Claxton shot a final round an even par 70 and finished in a tie for 33rd at the Nationwide Tour event in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Paul made three birdies and three bogeys.
Claxton shot a six under par 64 and was in second place after the opening round. Claxton had five birdies, an eagle (par five hole) and one bogey and he briefly was in the lead until he bogeyed 17. Paul told the Times-Record,
“I’ve been playing well the last few weeks,” said Claxton, who has made four cuts and had two top-six finishes in his last five events. “I’ve been in the hunt a few times, so my momentum is going to carry over. I’ve been doing a lot of good things.”
In the second round Paul made five birdies and a double bogey (par four hole) in his three under round of 67, he needed only 23 putts. Claxton has so-so weekend in Virginia

Claxton finishes 15th in Athens
Paul Claxton's putter cost him a shot at a second straight top 10 finish on the Nationwide Tour. Claxton entered the final round of the Athens Regional Foundation Classic in a seven-way tie for fifth place, five shots behind the leader Martin Laird. But Paul needed 32 putts to complete his round and made four bogeys and only birdied one of the par 5's on Sunday. Claxton had birdied eight of the 12 par 5's through the first three rounds. Paul ended up with a final round of one under 71 after shooting rounds of 69-70-69 on the par 72 course. Laird was the winner by one shot, Claxton finished in a tie for 15th. Claxton earns top 10 finish on a long Georgia course
Paul Claxton isn't known as a long hitter, but instead he is respected for his driving accuracy and his ability to hit greens in regulation. Over the weekend Paul overcame the weather and the longest course to ever host a PGA sanctioned event and he finished in a tie for sixth place in Valdosta at the Nationwide Tour's South Georgia Classic. Paul ended up at three under par 285 (71-72-70-72), seven shots behind the winner John Kimbell. Claxton took home $18,780 in his second top 10 finish of the season. He is now eighth on the tour's money list with a total of $72,780. |

Claxton misses cut in California
Coming off a second-place finish at the Nationwide Tour's Louisiana Open, Paul Claxton, from Vidalia, missed the cut by nine shots at the Livermore Valley Wine Country Championship in California. On Friday, in his second round, Claxton bogeyed five holes and had a quadruple bogey nine on the par 5 eighth hole to finish at nine over 81. On Thursday Claxton also bogeyed five holes (two par 3's, two par 4's and a par 5) in a four over par round of 76. Paul's only birdie was on the par 4 sixth hole. His putter betrayed him in this tourney. Claxton needed 34 putts on Thursday and 36 on Friday. Last week, in his playoff loss to Skip Kendall, Claxton averaged 27 putts per round. |

Claxton nipped in playoff by Kendall
Skip Kendall defeated Paul Claxton on the third hole of a playoff at the Nationwide Tour's Louisiana Open. Both golfers pared the 18th hole twice before Kendall won the par 5 third hole. Kendall made a birdie, Paul made a par. His second shot wound up in the bunker and his third left him with a 15-foot putt for birdie. Claxton told the Daily Advertiser, "I played the hole perfect. I was too aggressive on the bunker shot, but I hit a great putt, right where I wanted to hit it. It just didn't turn in." Paul had birdied that hole in the first three rounds of the tourney and he made an eagle on it earlier in the day.
Claxton shot a 5 under 66 on Sunday to move from fifth place, at the start of the day, into a tie for the lead at 16 under par after 72 holes. Paul birdied five holes, with no bogeys, on the back nine including 17 and 18 and shot a 31. He rolled in a 22-foot putt on the final hole. Over the final two rounds, Claxton had 12 birdies, one eagle and just one bogey. He shot 268 for the tourney with rounds of 71-68-64-65 and earned $54,000.
